Bed Preparation
Bed preparation is one of the most difficult stages of a new garden and is the most important for your plants. If corners are cut, your investment in time, effort and money are wasted. For plants to survive and thrive in the state of Texas special attention to the soil is required; 70% of the plants health is determined by the soil in which they are installed.
To prepare your beds properly we follow these steps:
1. We create the "lines" or outline the bed space.
2. Eliminate turf, weeds and existing soil (where necessary)
3. Separate bed from turf by installing edging (stone, steel or plastic)
4. Till proper landscape mix into existing soil.
Grow It Land Designs will always use the proper landscape mix with all of the amendments necessary to insure a healthy home for your plant material.

Tree Selection
Trees make a world of difference; They provide a beautiful image, help with erosion control, provide habitat for wildlife and some provide enough shade that when planted in the right location can reduce the temperature inside a house and help to lower energy cost.
Trees can help to increase your property value and dress up the entire neighborhood. They also clean up the air we breathe by reducing dust, pollen, and converting carbon dioxide to oxygen.
There are many trees available in a variety of native and adapted species suitable to the soils and climate of North Texas. If you are looking for a small ornamental, medium grower or large shade tree, Grow It Land Designs will plant, transplant and install any size tree.

Drainage
First we determine the source
1. Why is there so much water in one spot?
2. Where is the water coming from?
3. Is the water run off from a neighboring property?
4. Has there been construction near or on the property recently?
5. Has there been a significant increase in shade on the property?
6. Has the foundation of your house shifted?
7. Is there a main line or lateral leak in the irrigation system?
8. Does the house have sufficient guttering?
9. What will happen if something is not done?
Solutions
Answering these and other questions with the simple understanding that gravity is the prevailing force in every drainage situation, Grow It Land Designs will identify the source of your drainage issue and provide a cost effective solution.
Every drainage problem has a permanent solution; Grow It Land Designs is fully qualified and capable to improve any drainage situation. Sometimes a drainage issue is severe and the solution may require seemingly drastic steps such as cutting a channel through the drive-way to install a French drain. The answer maybe as simple as tying your gutters downspouts into an underground drain pipe or making an adjustment to the grade of your property with top soil; whatever the solution, drainage is a key factor in the proper maintenance of your property.
Irrigation Evaluation, Repair & Modification
Evaluation
Evaluation or diagnostic of your landscape irrigation system should be done at least three times a year. Grow It Land Designs experience to thoroughly check your, Micro-irrigation System, Spray Irrigation System, Rotary Sprinkler, Flood Systems flow rate, head to head loss, distribution efficiency, surface drainage or many other factors is all you need to receive a professional evaluation.
Repair
Irrigation systems will experience wear and tear from time to time causing broken pipes, valves, heads, wires, controls, nipples, diaphragms, etc. For example, a small pebble can easily clog a diaphragm causing major leakage. Grow It Land designs will find potential problems, use the proper equipment and experience to make all the necessary repairs for all irrigation systems.
Modifications
Modifications to your irrigation system is sometimes necessary when changing the look of your garden or the plant material has simply out grown the irrigation system. Grow It Land Designs is fully prepared at every job site to make the necessary adjustments and/or modifications to your system.
Irrigation Installation
When we install your irrigation system; we determine how many stations your system will need based on the size of the yard, the type of grass and plants you're irrigating. We then determine the amount of water pressure the valve is able to produce. Once the dimensions and water pressure is assessed, the installation can begin. We dig trenches in straight lines a minimum of 12″ below grade and install PCV piping which connects to valves and the double check. Each station can hold up to ten irrigation heads and needs a control valve which is installed in the same vicinity of that station. Normally a lot has one double check (or main valve). That double check can hold up to ten stations. Each station is set on a timer to turn on and off at your discretion (and no two stations can be active at the same time). Rain sensors may be added to disengage your system during storms.
